Prince

Here are some papercuttings and stencil art I made of Prince over the last few years. I’ve been a lifelong fan and wrote about it for The Sound newspaper, and you can read it here.

Ocean House Postcard front

Amy Ludwig VanDerwater‘s book “Every Day Birds” is out now. I illustrated the book with my papercuttings.

I’m doing a few events to celebrate the book’s release. The first two are:

Friday, March 11Jabberwocky Bookshop, Newburyport, MA, 6pm. I will talk about my papercutting influences, show my technique, answer questions, and sign books. Fun fact: I once worked at this bookstore!

Saturday, March 12Ocean House Gallery, Cape Elizabeth, ME, 1-3pm. Ocean House will be showing the original artwork from “Every Day Birds” from March 12 to April 9. On March 12, we will have an opening reception, and I will be on hand to sign books as well.

Every Day Birds“is available through independent bookstores nationwide, as well as Amazon.

Monhegan… the Muse: Selected Works from the Lupine Gallery collection

I have four pieces in this remarkable group show, featuring some of my all-time favorite artists. Additionally, my band Tiger Saw will be performing at the opening reception.

Monhegan has inspired generations of artists like the Wyeths, Rockwell Kent, Lynne Drexler, Edward Hopper, George Bellows, and many more. Its illuminating light and beautiful landscape with a working waterfront inspire endless opportunities for artists to paint or create.

CSA is honored to host this exhibition featuring selected works from the Lupine Gallery from Monhegan Island, Maine.

Artists displaying during this exhibition are: Sylvia Alberts, Carol Aronson-Shore, Kevin Beers, Alice Boynton, Frank Bruckmann, Ralph Bush, Kate Cheney Chappell, Rick Daskam, Lynne Drexler, Ralf Feyl, Sears Gallagher, Susan Gilbert, Alison Hill, Emil Holzhauer, Jessica Lee Ives, Elena Jahn, David Kasman, Bruce Kornbluth, Frances Kornbluth, Glen Krause, Nicholas Luisi, William Manning, William McCartin, Kate McGloughlin, Leo Meissner, Dylan Metrano, Stan Moeller, Zero Mostel, Paul Niemiec, Daphne Pulsifer, Carol Raybin, Elmer Rising, Arline Simon, Mike Stiler, Don Stone, Caleb Stone, and Michael E. Vermette.
